These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of HohoTools, the website hohotools.com, operated by HohoTools (individual operator) ("we", "us", "our"). By using the site or any tool on it, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What HohoTools is

HohoTools is a free collection of online tools — image processing, PDF tools, text and developer utilities, and more. Everything runs in your browser: when you use a tool, your file is processed locally on your own device by code running in the browser, and the result is saved directly back to your device. Files are never uploaded to us. There are no accounts, and the site is a static website with no server-side processing.

2. Your files stay on your device, and belong to you

Your content is yours. Because processing happens locally, your files are never transmitted to us; we never see, copy or store them, and you are not asked to grant us any license — there would be nothing to license, because nothing ever reaches us. You keep all rights to your files, before and after processing.

This design has a practical consequence: results exist only on your device. We cannot recover a file you lost, undo a conversion you did not keep, or restore anything. Please keep your originals; nothing you process here is a backup.

3. The service is provided "as is"

HohoTools is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any particular tool will meet your requirements. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions; in those places, the exclusions do not apply to you.

4. Results depend on your input

Conversion, compression and similar tools transform whatever you give them. Output quality and size depend on the input file — its format, resolution, content and prior compression history. We do not guarantee any particular result, such as a target file size, visual quality, preservation of features (metadata, color profiles, animation, layers), or compatibility with third-party software. Before deleting an original, check the result. When a task matters, work on a copy.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use HohoTools:

• for any unlawful purpose, or to process content in violation of applicable law or the rights of others (including copyright);
• to interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, its hosting, or related infrastructure;
• to subject the site to automated abuse, such as aggressive scraping or request flooding;
• to misrepresent your affiliation with us.

To the extent technically possible, we may restrict or block access for violations.

6. Third-party services

The site may include third-party services, such as cookieless analytics and — once enabled — advertising served by Google AdSense. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. How analytics and advertising data are handled is described in our Privacy Policy , which forms part of these Terms by reference.

7. Availability and changes to the service

We may add, change, suspend or remove any tool or feature at any time, without notice. The site is free and is provided without any service-level commitment.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, files, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the site — including loss of or damage to files you process with the tools. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to the total amounts you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim (typically zero — HohoTools is free).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability limitations; in those places, the limitations apply to the extent the law allows.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator of HohoTools from claims, damages and expenses arising from your misuse of the site or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the current version, and material changes will be highlighted on the site. Continuing to use the site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California, United States. Where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence provides you with protections that differ from these Terms, those protections prevail.
