Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between contain, cover and stretch?
Contain fits the entire image inside the target box without cropping (one side may be smaller). Cover fills the box exactly and crops the overflow from the center. Stretch forces the image into the box and distorts it if the ratios differ.
Can I upscale an image?
Yes, percentages above 100 and target sizes larger than the source both work. Be aware that enlarging cannot create detail the original never had, so big upscales look soft.
Which file formats can I resize?
PNG, JPG and WebP. The output keeps the input format, so a JPG stays JPG and a PNG keeps its transparency.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. The resizer runs entirely in your browser using the canvas API. Your files are processed locally and never transmitted to any server.
